Seiko Launch New Product at Basel
Mechanical or electronic this watch is very interesting
Last July I wrote of this new concept watch that was to be released by Seiko.
New models have been released and the company is poised to make the full commercial launch this year.
This spring driven calibre uses an electronic system to regulate the speed of rotation of a mechanical train. The voltage to run the electronic system is generated from the transmitted power of the mainspring with no battery required.
Seiko does not plan mass production of this product, the company is aiming at the high end of the market with the watch being hand assembled.
This spring driven calibre will deliver quartz watch accuracy.
